“Alina and Eco” among the finalists in the area of Excellent Communications Design

We are delighted that our children's book “Alina and Eco” has been nominated for the German Design Award 2025 in the “Excellent Communications Design” category!

The German Design Award is one of the most renowned design competitions worldwide and honors particularly innovative and pioneering projects. It sets international standards for outstanding design and highlights the central role of design in the sustainable transformation of the economy. This year, the award is increasingly focused on projects that offer answers to current global challenges — and this is exactly where our book comes in.

“Alina and Eco,” our joint project with aluminum rolling and recycling company Speira, is not just a children's book, but a guide to a more sustainable future. It deals with the topic of aluminum recycling and the circular economy in a playful and understandable way — a topic that is particularly important for the younger generation. Our nomination underscores the value of this message and the creative work behind developing the book.

What does this nomination mean for us?

For our team, the nomination is a great confirmation. It shows that our creative work is not only convincing in terms of design, but also that we are in touch with the times in terms of content. We are proud that our contribution to promoting environmental awareness among children and young people is recognized by the German Design Award.

The collaboration with illustrator Sarah Schüller was an essential component of this. Together, we have realized a project that harmoniously combines design and content and helps children develop a better understanding of aluminum as a sustainable material.

We'll reveal more about the book after the official launch. Now it's time to keep fingers crossed for the next phase!
